A Tale of Twin Cities: Pat Boone Jazz Luncheon and Sarah Palin at the RNC

Okay, so maybe it wasn’t a WOW for Pat Boone because of the generation gap but more of a “How interesting”. Although I couldn’t think of one song by Boone, I still made sure I got his autograph along with a photo op. He auctioned off a pair of his signature white shoes for $1,000. I would have bid on the shoes but they were too large for my feet. (Joking of course) The food was delicious and I’m sure I gained a pound or two.
Later at the RNC, some of us delegates pondered over how we would vote but we would later learn that the vote would be by acclimation. Yes, you probably noticed how the vote was taken. After debating amongst ourselves how we would vote, we didn’t get to vote. I had made up my mind that I would represent the people in my district and vote the way they voted overwhelmingly for McCain. But this never happened. I think I still have much to learn about this process.
Republican leaders wearing red and black caps monitored and controlled activities on the floor. We were given strips of paper telling us when to chant, cheer and clap for a certain speaker. I found this unusual after I had cheered and clapped at the Rally for the Republic without instruction. I learned that the RNC is a very expensive choreographed pep rally. I don’t think anyone had to be coached for the “Drill baby drill” cheer and when Governor Sarah Palin spoke. Everything that I learned about her in a short period of time was impressive. She appeared to be very down-to-earth and not a status quo type of person from what I learned in a couple of days. I really had very little time to learn about her because Senator McCain selected her for VP as I was preparing for travels to Minnesota. I recalled her saying in an interview that she really liked presidential candidate whom was independent of the party machine. A kind veteran gave me a Sarah Palin button at this time. I will add it to my political button collection.
The Sarah Palin speech was by far the highlight of the night.

If I were not voting my limited small government principles by voting for either Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party or Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party, to show my disgust for the big government policies of the socialist Democratic Party and the neo-con socialist-lite Republican Party, then I would vote for Sarah Palin.
But if I voted for Palin, then I would have to vote for John McInsane, I mean McCain. And neither he nor Obamination, I mean Obama, are a choice, or are the same choice on 90% of the issues that is flushing our nation down the toliet.
Everybody needs to vote third party to tell the Republicrats (Republican-Democrats) that we will not vote for hteir powersharing agreement that keeps them, the two headed dragon of Power and Money in office.
They, the two parties, have no interest in giving the people back their power and to restore our nation to a Republic that ensures that our natural rights and Liberty are protected.
Big Business and Big Government are in bed with each other, and the players are all connected or go back and forth between the corporate and political world, both Republicans and Democrats alike.
Voting for limited small government, especially at the Federal level, by voting third party, is the only way we the people can get rid of the corrupt power structure of the Democrats and Republicans.
